Purpose of the Support
Led by the Foundation for Environmental Education (FEE) in Denmark, Green Key is recognised worldwide as a mark of excellence in sustainable tourism for hotels, guesthouses, resorts, and other accommodation types. The Tobago Tourism Agency Limited (TTAL) has reaffirmed its support for this respected certification, demonstrating its commitment to shaping a tourism industry that is globally competitive, environmentally responsible, and fiscally prudent. Through this initiative, TTAL will cover 70% of the Green Key fee for Tobago-based accommodation providers whose applications are received and approved by Friday 19th June 2026. This support is designed to ease the path toward certification, enabling local properties to adopt stronger sustainable practices while gaining international recognition. In turn, it promotes environmental stewardship within Tobago’s hospitality sector and reinforces the island’s reputation as a destination that truly goes beyond the ordinary.
